Hi crafters! Nothing new to report as of lately, my mom has been in the hospital so I haven’t been doing a lot of crafting. She has been moved to a rehab center but she is not doing much better. She has been away from home for 40 days now and she is very home sick. They tell me medicaid is kicking her out on Friday but in my opinion, she is not well enough to go home. They are bringing her a new therapy machine today for her lungs (she has COPD) so I hope this will help her to release some of the CO2 that is causing her all of this distress. If this one works, then hopefully by Friday she will be able to come home and I will feel better about that transition. Please keep my mom in your prayers!
This Sunday is Father’s Day and I have not even made him a card yet! I really need to get in my craft room this weekend and start that project. After my retreat this past April, I have not put anything away so I have a lot of cleaning to do before I can get creative enough to make a card. I bought a new system for my craft room called a Scrap Rack so I also need to sit down and work on getting that finished. It is really cool and I hope to get it finished soon. Basically, I take all of my stamps (about 300) and ink them, then I stamp all of them at one time on a 6 x 6 card stock. This system is best described as a catalog holder like in Auto Zone that holds memory protectors that have 4 slots to slide in the 6×6 cards. This way I can look at all of my stamps at a glance instead of pulling open a drawer and pulling them out to find a particular stamp. I can’t wait to finish this.
Well, we had a great time this past weekend at our retreat in Alvin, Tx. There were 8 scheduled to go but one of the ladies was sick and couldn’t make it. We missed you Christy! Hopefully she can make it to the Tomball retreat in September. This is my favorite retreat I think. It is not too far from home and it is a log cabin on 20 acres with a pond in the back that is stocked with fish. We love taking a break from the sitting and we go out onto the pier and feed the fish. So relaxing!
I also hit a goal that I set for myself this weekend for the first time! I printed out 100 pictures ( 5 sets of events for last year) for the retreat and I scrapbooked every set! I never finish all of my pictures in one weekend but this time I did. I’m so happy about that although, I am still very behind on the last two years but if I set a goal for every retreat, I may just catch up soon. Well, that’s all for now until the next time. Keep on scrappin!
