Dryer Sheet Santa Card

Look what’s new in my Craft Addict Studio!

I wanted to try something new (as always) this morning.  Christmas is just around the corner and I thought to myself, “I need to get my Christmas cards ready to go!  I hate waiting until the last minute when I have shopping on my mind.  The last thing I need to worry about is where am I going to find time to make Christmas cards!  So, I have made a couple but I wanted to try the dryer sheet technique.  I used an old Dots stamp (now Close to my Heart) called the Christmas makes memories set.  This stamp set is not available anymore, it was from the 2000-2001 book but I just love the Santa in this set.  He is skinny here so I thought I would give him some color to his beard since he must be the young santa…..lol.  Anyway, this technique was so easy and it only to me about 30 minutes to make this card.  You take your stamped card sheet that you are going to use on the front of the card and before you attach it to anything, you place glue all over the entire card, stamp and all.  You then take a “USED” dryer sheet and smooth it out onto the glue.  It does not smooth out entirely (you want some wrinkles) and then you trim off the excess.  Sprinkle glitter over the card and tap off the excess.  You then attach it to your background and card base.  Voila!  You have a dryer sheet card.  I still need more practice with my markers but, it looks awesome and it covers up any coloring mistakes I may have made!

Thank you for visiting and come back often for more designs!
