It’s Easter time again and I made 2 different types of cards today. I made one for the bunny lovers and I made one that is dearest to my heart.
The first card I made using scraps mostly but I used one sheet with Easter eggs from the All Seasons II paper pack I got at Hobby Lobby. Using the Close to my Heart Artiste cartridge, I cut the card on page 73 at 5.25 inches. This is a great cartridge, check it out or order it here. I then cut pink at 3.25 x 5″ and the egg print paper at 3 x 4.75″. I then cut the yellow and the white sentiment card from elegant edges using the swirl oblong and shadow on page 25 at 3.5″. I also have some twine that I cut about 8″ and wrapped it around my fingers to make a bow. I tied a shorter piece in the middle and glued it down and added a rhinestone to the middle to hide the middle string. I tugged at the loops and my bow was done. I stamped the sentiment with an older Easter stamp set from Close to my Heart which has been retired for a long time. It is called Eastertime, but it is no longer available. I colored in my bunny with my ShinHan markers. I really like that this card was simple and quick to make.
I finally got to use my New Testament Cricut cartridge on my 2nd card! I love this cartridge….There are so many awesome Christian cuts to be used for holidays. I made this card using The New Testament cartridge and some scrap paper I had left over from my Kirby Teesdale Studio paper pack. The card is 4.25 X 5.5. I cut the large base purple card stock at 4 X 5.25 and the coordinating flower card stock at 3.75 x 5. I cut the second set at 3.5 x 4.75 (purple) and 3.25 x 4.5 (flowers). Using Elegant Edges cartridge, I cut the leaves pattern on pg 29 using oblong at 3″ in white and then the shadow piece at 3″ in purple. I then embossed my white piece with my cuttlebug using a paper studio flourish (I don’t know the actual name) embossing folder. Then using my New Testament cartridge, I cut the cross on page 27 (do not use shift button) at 3″ in purple and then the next cross (using shift button) in brown. The purple is glued behind the brown and then the purple drape is glued to the front of the brown. I then typed the sentiment “He is Risen” in Word and printed it out on card stock. I then cut it our by just estimating and then cut a purple background just a little larger than the sentiment and glued them together. I put pop dots on the back of the cross and adhered it to the front of the card and glued down the sentiment. I hope you like this card.
