This is my first attempt (not counting the one that you make out of the box) at making a card using my new Cricut Explore. I got to search around in the files for a design and play with un-grouping and welding. I cut out my design at 4″ because I made the base card 5 x 6. I made it this size just because and not because I want it to fit in any certain envelope. This card is probably going to hubby because he gets all of my first drafts (and he thinks I make them especially for him so I win brownie points AND he makes me deserts to show he cares (smiley face).
I wasn’t even going to post this but, I wanted to let everyone know how easy this card was to make. The hardest part was trimming the card and the paper to make the card base (and of course the bow). I need more practice making bows as you can see.
I can’t believe I waited to get this machine. It is my new favorite and I now own 4. I love the way this machine can cut and write. I have learned that you can buy other types of pens for the Explore and you don’t have to use the Cricut pen that comes with it. I really want to find more colors (especially RED & Green) to get started on my Christmas cards. I can’t wait to design new cards for Christmas this year using my Explore! Well, back to my Studio! Have a crafty day!
