Manly Birthday Card
I don’t make many masculine cards but, there are 3 times a year that I am propelled to make them. My husband, and 2 sons have birthdays pretty close to each other so it is a chore to find paper designed for the men in my life. I don’t want to make them identical because then it just looks like mass production with no thought into the design of them at all so, I have to specially design each one accordingly. This year I thought I would make them out of plain card stock without a print and just choose masculine colors. Okay so I have made one card so far. My youngest son’s birthday is in March and my older son’s birthday is in May so at least it gives me about a month and a half to design his. Whew! It is difficult for me to make manly cards because I want to decorate them up with bows and ribbons and bling and I can’t really do it up like I want so, I did use ribbon but without the bow and I think it came out just fine. I still have the urge to add more bling but I just haven’t come up with anything manly yet. So here is my card below (for the moment). I used the Artist Cricut Cartridge from Close to my Heart to make the card base. You can order that here. All of the card stock and ribbon are also from Close to my Heart. Their paper is so easy to cut because it is a little thicker that what you get from the craft stores. Check it out here.
I may still add something but, I think I need some more ideas so please comment in the comment section under the header and let me hear your ideas!
By the way, I made a card for my husband earlier in the year so I don’t have to worry about his anytime soon. His birthday is in the beginning of January so while I have all of my Christmas card stock out, I also have to make one post-holiday without the holiday frills. I can put hearts and bling on his, he doesn’t mind……lol.
Thanks for visiting and come back often!
